The small town of Dawson Springs, Kentucky, was devasted last December by a tornado that demolished much of the town, including the town's City Park.
To support, Casey's and Gatorade teamed up to donated $100,000 to Independence Bank's Horses of Hope project in order to rebuild the community's sports fields. The money will be used to restore and revitalize the baseball and softball fields impacted after the historic EF-4 tornado in Dawson Springs in 2021 and is expected to be completed in March of 2023.
Kent Mills, President of Independence Bank, recalled the storm as "massive" and "made its mark on the hearts of so many people who call Hopkins County home.”
"Because of pivotal partnerships, such as the six-figure donation from Casey’s and Gatorade, we're able to make significant strides at bringing back America’s Favorite Pastime, and our youth athletic program at Dawson Springs City Park. We have a great deal of gratitude towards those who have generously given to our Horses of Hope.”
This project is a huge win for the town of Dawson Springs. It will provide the town’s youth sports teams with the facilities they need to succeed, and it will foster a sense of community among the residents, even in the midst of such tragedy.
The new fields will be a source of pride for many generations to come.
We are incredibly proud of our Casey's team for supporting this project and making this donation possible. The generosity of our guests and team members will have a lasting impact on the town of Dawson Springs for years to come.
Casey's Here for Good, but we couldn't do it without you! See how you can help your community with us.
