At Casey’s, we understand the significance of hunger. There are families nationwide that worry about where their next meal will come from – and it’s in our hearts to help. Casey’s has maintained a long tradition of providing relief and fighting hunger.
Just last month, we delivered nearly 40,000 pounds of food products to local food banks in central Iowa and Indiana. And now we are taking our efforts a step further by partnering with Feeding America® to continue this ever-important fight.
“I was overcome with joy watching Casey’s pull up to unload semi-trucks full of food for people who benefit from our food bank,” said Michelle Book, president and CEO, Food Bank of Iowa. “Their generosity provided 25,000 meals to feed hungry children and their families. And we are lucky to receive an additional cash donation through Casey’s partnership with Feeding America to immediately relieve the burden of hunger for so many more. Casey’s continues to show us their outstanding dedication to the community.”
To help provide more relief to more people in need, Casey’s is uniting with Feeding America to help provide meals for children and their families. The cash donation of $150,000 will be distributed to 52 food banks across the 16 different states Casey’s operates in. Right in our home state of Iowa, six local food banks will receive a total of $22,500 to feed people in need. Similar donations are being made to several food banks serving our guests, friends and neighbors across the heartland.
“Feeding America food banks are working tirelessly to meet the increased needs of our neighbors who face hunger,” added Lauren Biedron, Vice President of Corporate Partnerships at Feeding America. “However, we can’t do that alone. Thanks to Casey’s, these donations will help provide food for children and families who need it most. We are grateful to Casey’s for their support at such a critical time in the fight against hunger. Their partnership will make a big difference for local food banks.”
